FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY!!!

Hello Gorgeous or Handsome depending on who's reading.
It's Friday and I'm all sorts of excited to have off of work today. I'm up bright and early to get on the road for my girl weekend. So here's some fun stuff, a little Finish This Sentence, because it's fun. My answers are never as humorous as some but still why not? So here goes:

1. I always pick comfort over fashion .
2. Look at the size of those...
3. I recently learned....My kids are super embarrassed when I bust some moves in the grocery store.
4. Only when no one is looking...do I pick my grundie. Come on that's just gross to do it while people are starring.
5. I lost my....mind a long time ago
6. I was certain I'd be...a dancer...the kind that works the pole
7. There is not enough liquor in the world for me to...wear a bikini in public. Nobody wants to see that.
8. I just finished...my oatmeal.
9. Why does everyone have to be...so serious.
10. It's very rare when I...sleep in
11. If I were a dog...I'd pee every where and sleep all day
12. I don't believe...in being hurtful. Come on people let's all get along and hug it out.

Well that's all I got. Cross your fingers that mother nature will sober up and not hit me with an ice storm so I can get home safely. Have a great weekend!!!

Monday Ramblings

Hello Monday!
It's a new week and another chance to re-evaluate what I did right and what I did wrong.
Here was my plan last week: What I did in RED
Monday-Run (we'll see since we're getting dumped with some more snow) Spin
Tuesday-Strength/yoga Strength
Wednesday-Run Strength/spin
Thursday-Strength Strength/spin
Friday-Yoga  Yoga
Saturday-Run Rest
Sunday - 30 min misc exercise 9 miles

That's the week. We had a huge snow dump on Monday. We also got hit with the flu here. Ick not so much fun, but we're all back to feeling healthy and not like death. I can it a win.
Saturday I didn't workout. I was busy busy busy....I had to get my hair done because the platinum blondes were popping through like crazy, then grocery shop and then hello massage and dinner with my friend.
I'm such a goofball.
I didn't do anything new. Cover the "effn" grays with color and highlights and trim up the ends. Done!
The massage was nice. It wasn't amazing because I had a dude. Ok, from a girl that love love loves massages I've never had a guy do mine, well except my husband but that's my husband. So it was kind of hard (ick no pun intended) to relax. I eventually did but still weirded out. Ha!

Sunday I woke up and knew I had to get a run in because my first half of the year is coming up in 6 weeks. EEkkkk...a-the winter has been sucking big time, b-Ice..really running on ice is no bueno.
But after I cleaned alittle and did my photo shoot I was out and running.

I have a brady band addiction.

I wanted to do 10 but really 1 degree makes it super cold so I was fine with 9. I only feel once which was amazing since I would run and then there would be ice and run and then ice, and so on for miles.
Boom and done.

And I have this little guy as a reminder that I feel. Isn't that nice.

So that's how it was last week. Here's the plan for this week:

Monday-Run
Tuesday-Strength/Spin
Wednesday-Run
Thursday-Strength/Spin
Friday- Yoga
Saturday - Run
Sunday - Stretch

I'm heading out of town on Friday early, fingers crossed I can get up early and get a workout in before I travel to meet up with my girl Lori and Jenni. We're getting together with Holly, Mel, and Millers too. I think. That's the plan. So I'll be getting my party on and eating my face off, but it's not like I do it every weekend. I'm super stoked. Mama needs to escape the sick house and sleep without snoring.
Also guess what it's going to be cold this week. Woohooo...bring it baby.

Linking up with the lovely Carolyn at Fitnasty

How are you staying on track this week?

101

Oh shoot, I guess I didn't realize I was at 100 posts already. So let's celebrate the next best thing.

Yep I made it to 101 posts. Posts that are so random and sometimes have no ryhme or reason but that's how I roll. What have I learned from blogging? Well that's another post. Today I wanted to come and share the amazing opportunity that I get to partake in tonight.

Before I ran my marathon I spoke of becoming an angel. You can read it here.
Running with those captains really changed my perspective on running. Yes I could always try to get a better time and I could always train harder but the point is I could do it. I had a body that was capable of running 26.2 miles, but what about those that can't. What about those that are confined to a wheelchair or have a degenerative muscle disease? Training and eventually running a race with My Team Triumph has opened that door for me and it's all because of two men.

The founder of mTT started this organization because of the incredible journey of Rick & Dick Hoyt
Their's is a story that I could watch over and over again. Here is a father that is asked by his son whom has physical limitations to run a 5k. Keep in mind that father will have to push his son in a stroller, and the father is not a long distance runner, but he agreed because Rick wanted to do this race to show a fellow classmate that you don't have to be defined by your limitations. Rick said to his dad after that first race "Dad, when I'm running, it feels like I'm not handicapped." That realization was just the beginning of what would become over 1,000 races completed, including marathons (including Boston), duathalons, and triathlons (6 of them being Ironman competitions).  To see some of their story click here.

I would recommend grabbing some tissues too because it is a tear jerker. So what's the big news....Well Dick Hoyt is coming to my city and I get to meet him today and listen to him speak. I'm so excited to meet a man that has really dedicated his life to his son. A man that people have said  could have been an elite athlete if he ran those races solo. Seriously, words cannot express my awe and amazement for this duo.

I watched a couple of their clips before my marathon and they really inspired me. When I was running my marathon and thought I couldn't do it any more and wanted to quit I thought of them and how a father's undying love for his son and that love made him push harder and keep going. That my friends is dedication.

Anyone of us can go and train and put the work in, but I can tell you from first hand knowledge that pushing someone is harder. Yes, the strollers glide smoothly and turn ok but it's nothing like running solo. You have to not only do it for yourself but you have someone else that is counting on you as well. Imagine thinking you just couldn't do it anymore and then realizing that you're not doing it for YOU, it's for that person that's confined to that stroller or bike. It's for them because this is the only time that they can forget their disability and really feel free. This is their time and all that training you did isn't for you it's for them and for that one moment that they can truly feel free.

~The best that has happened to me in my life has come from handling the worst that's happened to me,
in my life. - Dick Hoyt~

Keeping It Real

Hey y'all. Welcome back to Monday. I have a love/hate relationship with Mondays. I love that I get to reset and get back to a normal routine. Truth be told the last couple months have been a ball of busy busy busy.
Anyway first thing here is me keeping it real with you.
Eating wise I did pretty good this week, during the week was another story.
This was my plan last week: What I did in RED

Monday-Weights/Cardio  Weights/Spin
Tuesday-Yoga/Legs/Abs 30 min Spin
Wednesday-Run/Arms 4 mile Run
Thursday-Legs/Abs Strength/Spin
Friday-Yoga Yoga
Saturday-Run Strength
Sunday-Rest 7 mile run

Hey not to shabby. I made sure to do at least 30 min every day. I'm have a new challenge that I've been following and it started Monday so I've been 7 for 7. Whoot whoot.

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday- Balls cold out

Thursday

Friday - Group yoga

Saturday - Rockn' Princess Laya Buns

Power house..

So I had a pretty good week. My weight was the same this week so that sucks but I'm really determined to not look at the number but focus on how I feel. I'm just excited that I'm running longer distances again.

Saturday was suppose to be my run day but my little guy got sick so I was playing nurse until my husband got home so I could sneak in 30 min.

If you follow me on IG sorry that this is a repeat. I post those pictures to keep me accountable. I think it helps knowing that if I don't I'll be called out by a lack of posting. Love my fit family.
Now I have to figure out the calories issue. I've spoken in the past about having a sluggish thyroid. That little gland is why I have to eat fewer calories than most AND workout in order to lose a pound. After my Christmas gain I needed to re-evaluate my eating. I really want to get to my goal weight by Christmas but not only just the goal weight I want to be fit and toned. I'm not seeking some unattainable goal I'm seeking what I was at before I had my boys.

So here's the plan for this week.
Monday-Run (we'll see since we're getting dumped with some more snow)
Tuesday-Strength/yoga
Wednesday-Run
Thursday-Strength
Friday-Yoga
Saturday-Run
Sunday - 30 min misc exercise

That's my plan for this week. I really believe you have to plan to succeed!
What's your plan for the week? Do you need support? I will check in with you if you do!
Have a great week!

Monday Funday

Welcome to Monday. It's the day we try re-evaluate what's worked for us this week and what hasn't.

Monday-Rest Rest
Tuesday-Burn 1 Weights/Legs
Wed-Run/ Yoga Easy Run 3 miles
Thursday-Burn2&3 Rest
Friday-Cardo/Yoga Rest
Saturday - Run Rest
Owie!!
12 feels like heaven

So that's how that went. I still lost 1/2 lb but I know I could do better. I just didn't want to rush into anything since my T3 was still bugging me when I did weights on Tuesday.
I had a jam packed weekend and truth be told it was freezing so no running outside.
This week except for today is suppose to be better. Fingers crossed

Today is back at it!
Here is my plan for the week:

Monday-Weights/Cardio
Tuesday-Yoga/Legs/Abs
Wednesday-Run/Arms
Thursday-Legs/Abs
Friday-Yoga
Saturday-Run

So that's the plan. We'll see how it works. There's not too much on the agenda this week so hopefully I'll be able to get it all in.

What are you doing this week?

5 on Friday

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG
What's up peeps. Well so far so good here. My week was crazy and hectic and it's looking like my weekend will be the same. I guess such is this life of mine. Here's whats up in my world.

1- Running...Well I'd say hey lets hope I get a run in on Saturday, but truth be told that won't happen because we're going out tonight and late nights don't often have me waking up at 5am to get a run in. So I'll have to settle for Saturday after work or Sunday after church.
not me but certainly what I've looked like lately

2-Girls trip!! I'm excited because I'll be going to meet up with some lovely ladies in 3 weeks...eekkkk so excited and I know I said it last week, but momma needs some time without a 2 year old hanging on my leg. I love my kids but I know it's good for me to get away too:)

(sorry Katie but we all have grays)
3-Hair Appointment - STAT!!! Ok so with the wonderfulness of growing older I've developed some lovely grays, whites, platinum blondes, whatever you want to call them. This would be fine if I actually had blonde hair but the dark brunette that I am well they just can't hide and alas the salon is calling my name. So I need to get in there because momma doesn't like to look jacked.

4-The gun show. I've been working on my buns and guns to get them ready for summer and for my goal of becoming fit in 2014. Since my fall last Wednesday it's meant taking a break from my hardcore (well hardcore for me) Chaleane Extreme and just doing what's going to work for me right now. Push-ups are a serious challenge right now. My T3 (in the middle of your shoulder blades) is aggravated so I just need to take it day by day, but I'm seeing some little baby guns busting through.

oh that sucks...
5-Temps. Ok so I know that everyone is surrounded by this polar vortex or as I call it living in the North pole weather, and we're all over it. I can handle single digits but the negative temps are making people plain crazy including myself. I'm excited for it to warm up soon.

That's all I got. A little comedy show tonight we shall see how funny these guys are, but I guess anything is funny with a two drink minimum. ha ha
Have a great one! What's on your agenda this weekend?

Trying To Stay Sane

Since my epic fall on the ice on Wednesday I have been trying to stay sane while not being able to work out. Now to some this is crazy talk. "Who goes crazy because they can't work out?"
Ooohhhhh...me me me

Yes, it's true when I don't work out I tend to get a little cranky and on edge. Truth to be told it's my anti-anxiety prescription. non-medication. Did that make sense? Ha!  I've never lied I did use to be on anti-anxiety meds and they have their place and space in life. (disclaimer here: I am not putting down anxiety or depression medications at all. Everyone is different and this is what has worked for me.)

I personally was just sick of how they made me feel. I wasn't my normal up beat, hyper, goofball self. I was more like a zombie that just kind of rolled with the waves of life, but they did help me when I needed them. After life got a little less dramatic and by a freak accident I went off my medication, but I knew I needed to workout to keep my stress levels down. I knew what I needed to do to keep myself sane.

So after my nasty fall on Wednesday I thought I could bust a move on Saturday....yeah not so much. I'm still sore but I'm feeling better. I just really need to let me body heal. This coming from a very impatient person.  Fingers crossed by Wednesday I'll be back to my old self and busting a move on the snow. Yes, I'm crazy enough to go try to run on the snow covered sidewalks again.

So here was last weeks goals. What I did in Red.
Monday - Burn 1-

Tuesday - Cardio/abs
Wednesday - Burn 2&3/Run
Thursday - Rest
Friday - Cardio/yoga
Saturday - Run

Yeah not such a good week, but what are you going to do. Life is like that sometimes.

This week I'm taking is slow.

Monday-Rest
Tuesday-Burn 1
Wed-Run/ Yoga
Thursday-Burn2&3
Friday-Cardo/Yoga
Saturday - Run

I'm not putting down mileage for my runs because I want to test the waters on Wednesday.
In other news I've been really good at my eating. I've been planning ahead of time and that's going well. I've also included some more strength for runners so that should help with the upcoming races.

That's all I got peeps. Lets leave you with some Monday ManCandy.....and your welcome.
Have a wonderful day!!
